WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?

To Mladcovská skalka and Přední Vrch

Discover hidden natural gems in the surroundings of Mladcová on an easy circular route that will take you to the romantic Mladcovská skalka, with its rock-cut stairs almost to the heavens, and to the rock formations on Přední vrch. In about an hour and a half, you will walk mostly along forest paths, enjoy scenic views, discover reliefs carved into the rock and soak up the peaceful atmosphere of quiet woodland corners.

Our walk begins at the cemetery in Mladcová, which can be easily reached by bus from the main railway station. From here, there is already a lovely view of Zlín and its surroundings. We set off along a well-trodden grassy path running alongside the road away from the city. The trail leads us past an allotment garden colony, beyond which we turn right onto an inconspicuous path leading into the forest. The path winds among the trees and soon brings us to a distinctive rock formation – Mladcovská skalka. It is definitely worth stopping here. The massive rock reaches a height of up to six metres. It is surrounded by smaller rock formations, and on their faces you can admire the shapes created by the selective weathering of sandstone. In addition to its romantic atmosphere, you will be drawn to the famous stairs carved into the stone, which allow you to climb all the way to the top of the rock. Below the rock you will also find a fire pit, an ideal spot for a short break – you can roast sausages here or simply enjoy a quiet snack.

We then continue past the rock to a junction, where we turn left and shortly afterwards turn right again onto a forest trail. This takes us to Přední vrch, where an unexpected surprise awaits – a figure of a medieval warrior carved into stone. There are also smaller rock formations in the area, with the main rock with other reliefs located just a short distance away. Below it, you can rest by another fire pit or simply enjoy the silence and atmosphere of the place. From the rocks, we gradually descend along a forest path that leads us back to an asphalt road near the allotment gardens. From there, it is only a short walk back to the cemetery where we started.
