Transport and parking

Public transport

Zlín has a dense public transport network consisting of trolleybuses and buses, providing convenient connections throughout Zlín and the neighbouring town of Otrokovice. Services run at short intervals and serve both the city centre and suburban districts. Timetables, route maps and fare information can be found at www.dszo.cz. Public transport is operated by Dopravní společnost Zlín – Otrokovice, s. r. o.

Single and season tickets can be purchased from ticket machines at selected stops, at pre-sale outlets of the Dopravní společnost Zlín – Otrokovice, or at participating newsagents. Tickets can also be purchased from the driver for a small surcharge, or via SMS, provided that the Premium SMS service is activated with your mobile operator. Tickets can also be purchased directly on board public transport vehicles using a payment card, mobile phone, smart watch or wristband. Detailed instructions on how to purchase a ticket directly on board can be found at www.dszo.cz/platby-ve-vozech

Parking in Zlín

Private cars

In the centre of Zlín, a zoned parking system is in place, together with six barrier-controlled municipal car parks operated by Technické služby Zlín. We recommend following traffic signs and the information boards of the SMART navigation system, which displays available parking spaces.

Parking payment
Parking fees can be paid in several ways. You can pay at parking meters using coins or a payment card. Another option is online payment via the Parkum service, which works easily through a web browser without the need to install an app. Parking fees can also be paid using the EasyPark mobile app. Detailed instructions on how to pay parking fees using the individual systems can be found at www.tszlin.cz/parkovani/navod.

P+R Příluky
For visitors who prefer to avoid parking in the city centre, the P+R Příluky park-and-ride car park is available. Parking here is free of charge and without time limits. You can continue to the city centre by train from the Zlín-Příluky stop (approx. 7 minutes), or by public transport from the Příluky-hřiště stop or Příluky stop – trolleybuses no. 1, 11, 12 or buses no. 90, 91 (approx. 15 minutes).

In the future, the city plans to expand this system with additional park-and-ride facilities on the outskirts of Zlín, offering an even more convenient and efficient way to avoid parking in the city centre.

Buses

Buses can park in the parking spaces located beneath the Sports Hall in Zlín. This is the closest available option to the city centre and is suitable for short-term parking. Free parking is available for a maximum of three buses, with a maximum parking time of two hours. For longer-term bus parking, we recommend using the P+R Příluky park-and-ride facility, which offers spacious and convenient facilities outside the busy city centre. From there, you can easily continue by train or public transport.

Shared bicycles and e-bikes

This form of urban mobility offers a fast and sustainable way of getting around, along with the freedom to explore the city exactly as you wish. You can go wherever and whenever you like, without waiting for a connection or looking for a parking space, and stop wherever something catches your interest.

Bike sharing in Zlín is operated by Nextbike. The first 15 minutes of your ride are free, for up to four rentals per day. Each additional 30 minutes cost CZK 28. For e-bikes, the price is CZK 2 per minute. Bicycles can only be collected and returned at official docking stations with stands. A map of stations and the current availability of bikes are clearly displayed in the Nextbike app.

To rent a bike, you need to download the Nextbike app from Google Play or App Store and complete a short registration. When you log in for the first time, an initial credit of CZK 50 is automatically charged to your payment card; you can top this up at any time as needed.

Renting a bike is very easy. Each bike has a QR code that you simply scan in the app, and the electronic lock unlocks automatically. After finishing your ride, manually click the lock back into its original position to end the rental. Up to four bikes can be rented simultaneously under one account.

Personal transport

For fast and convenient travel around Zlín, you can not only use traditional taxi services but also transport platforms such as Bolt and Liftago. Both platforms allow you to easily order a car, view the price, track the route in real time and pay directly via your mobile phone.

Bolt allows you to order or even pre-book a vehicle within moments via the mobile app, where you can also see the price, the driver’s arrival time and the estimated time to your destination. Prices with Bolt are generally lower but may change dynamically depending on demand, time of day or location. Liftago works in a similar way but places greater emphasis on choosing a specific driver based on ratings, price or vehicle type. It therefore offers a higher level of control over service quality, which will be appreciated by users who prefer a more personal approach and transparent ride selection. This is naturally reflected in a slightly higher price.

Both apps are available free of charge on Google Play and the App Store.
